The Morgan Silver Dollar series began in 1878. The initial design featured the eagle on the reverse with eight tail feathers but the idea spread that this was ornithologically incorrect and the eagle should have seven. This set includes all 3 varieties of tail feather from Philadelphia as well as a Carson City and San Francisco Mint (both 7 tail feathers) all certified MS63 by PCGS
