This item includes 20 of the last silver Kennedy half dollars in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The roll is made up of coins randomly selected from 1965-1970 when they were still being made with 40% silver. All 20 coins are encased in a plastic roll to protect them and maintain that Brilliant Uncirculated condition for years to come.
Soon after JFK’s assassination, Eva Adams, the then Mint Director gave directions to the mint’s Chief Engraver Gilroy Roberts to create a design based on the late President for the ‘Half dollar’. He used the existing design of the Kennedy Presidential medal to create the obverse of the Half dollar while Frank Gasparro created a modified presidential seal design for the reverse.
These coins, made from 1965-1970, are no longer being made so this item ensures your collection will have an assortment of the last Silver Kennedy half dollars minted for circulation but in Uncirculated condition.
