In 1955 the government began issuing each years proof coin denominations as a complete flat pack sets. This continued until 1965 when they began to move the proof making capacity to the San Francisco Mint which took 3 years. 1968 marks the first year that the San Francisco Mint began issuing complete proof sets and that continues today.

Proof coins are manufactured by striking each coin at least twice on highly polished coin blanks to bring out the mirrored field and high relief devices. This collection is the complete first 42 years of Proof sets from 1968 to 2009 produced at the San Francisco Mint all in their original government packaging with its certificate of authenticity.

There are a total of 291 coins in this collection. Some of the standout coins include all the Eisenhower proof dollars (1973-1978) and the first two women to appear on American coinage (Susan B. Anthony dollars 1979-1981 and the first Sacagawea dollars 2000-2009). This collection also includes the complete State and Territory quarter series minted from 1999-2009, which is the most recognized series in American history.

This set includes every proof set from their opening year in 1968 all the way to 2009 when they released the 4 coin bicentennial Lincoln commemorative cents and through the end of the State/Territorial Quarter program. We are also include the 1976 United States bicentennial 3 coin commemorative dollar, half dollar and quarter. All of this will ship to you encased in the original government issue protective holders.
