Own a complete snapshot of American coinage from more than six decades ago with this Original 1962 U.S. Mint Proof Set. The set contains all five denominations issued for circulation that year: the Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter and Franklin Half Dollar. PCGS identifies the 1962 set as one of the classic silver Proof Sets of the era, with all five coins specially struck for collectors rather than everyday circulation. PCGS

Three of the five coins—the Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter and Franklin Half Dollar—were struck in the traditional 90% silver composition used for these denominations prior to the major changes in U.S. coinage that began in the mid-1960s. That gives the set particular appeal for collectors who appreciate both historic U.S. silver coinage and complete annual Mint sets.

The centerpiece is the 1962 Franklin Half Dollar, featuring Benjamin Franklin on the obverse and the Liberty Bell on the reverse. The set also includes the long-running Washington Quarter and Roosevelt Dime designs, along with the Jefferson Nickel and Lincoln Memorial Cent. Together, these five coins represent the complete standard Proof coinage lineup offered for 1962. PCGS

Each coin was struck with the specially prepared dies and polished surfaces associated with the Proof manufacturing process, giving the coins their distinctive mirrored appearance and sharper design detail. The 1962 Proof coinage was produced at the Philadelphia Mint, with PCGS reporting a mintage of 3,218,019 for the 1962 Proof Jefferson Nickel, consistent with the production level of the annual Proof Set. PCGS

For collectors of vintage U.S. Mint products, Franklin Half Dollars or pre-1965 silver coinage, the 1962 U.S. Mint Proof Set offers five classic American designs together in one affordable historic set.
