Celebrate one of the most iconic designs in American coinage with this extraordinary 2026 Best of the Mint 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter Gold Coin & Silver Medal Set. Created for the United States’ 250th Anniversary, this was the second release in the U.S. Mint’s five-part Best of the Mint series, which revisits some of the most celebrated coins in American history through 24-karat gold coins paired with newly designed silver companion medals.
The centerpiece is the 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter Dollar struck in one-quarter troy ounce of .9999 fine, 24-karat gold. The coin recreates Hermon A. MacNeil’s legendary design, depicting Liberty holding a shield and olive branch on the obverse and an eagle in flight on the reverse. Created specifically for the Semiquincentennial release, the gold quarter also bears a special Liberty Bell privy mark containing the numeral “250.” It was struck at the West Point Mint and carries a U.S. Mint mintage limit of just 30,000.
Its companion is an impressive one-ounce .999 fine silver medal struck at the Philadelphia Mint. Rather than simply duplicating the quarter, the Mint created a fresh interpretation inspired by the original Standing Liberty design. A windswept Liberty turns to offer olive branches to an eagle, while her shield incorporates 50 rivets representing the states and 13 stripes representing the original colonies. The reverse continues the scene with the eagle holding the olive branches, surrounded by 13 stars.
CSN takes this already limited U.S. Mint release one step further. Both pieces have been certified a perfect SP70 by ANACS with the coveted Advanced Release designation and paired as a CSN-exclusive matched set individually numbered from only 1 to 150. Complete with the original U.S. Mint packaging, this exceptional two-piece presentation combines classic American coinage, precious metals, modern Mint artistry and the historic celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary.
