The 2025 Eagle Privy Silver American Eagle adds another distinctive chapter to one of America’s most collected modern coin series. Following the introduction of the Star Privy Silver Eagle in 2024, the United States Mint continued the concept in 2025 with a new eagle-in-flight privy mark, making this the first U.S. bullion coin to feature this particular privy design. With production limited to only 500,000 coins, the Eagle Privy represents a notably limited bullion issue within the broader Silver Eagle program. Numismatic Guaranty Company The obverse carries Adolph A. Weinman’s celebrated Walking Liberty design, originally created for the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Liberty strides toward the rising sun draped in the American flag, carrying branches of laurel and oak. Near the traditional “IN GOD WE TRUST” inscription is the special eagle-in-flight privy mark, immediately distinguishing this issue from the standard 2025 Silver Eagle. The U.S. Mint updated the Walking Liberty design beginning in 2021 to more closely reflect Weinman’s original artwork and restored his traditional artist mark. United States Mint
The reverse features Emily Damstra’s modern American bald eagle design introduced to the Silver Eagle series in 2021. An eagle descends with an oak branch in its talons, symbolizing strength and endurance. Each coin contains one full troy ounce of .999 fine silver, measures approximately 40.6 mm in diameter, and carries the federally backed ONE DOLLAR denomination. United States Mint
Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, the 2025 Eagle Privy coins do not carry a traditional “P” mint mark, as is customary for bullion Silver Eagles. The combination of the special privy, limited 500,000-coin production and the enduring popularity of the American Silver Eagle makes this an unusual collectible variation of the standard bullion issue. |
