Two of the most celebrated silver dollars in American history come together for one of the most important anniversaries our nation has ever celebrated. The 1776–2026 Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars were created to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of American independence—and this extraordinary two-coin set features the first-ever Morgan and Peace Dollars struck with an Enhanced Uncirculated finish.
Created exclusively for the Semiquincentennial, both coins feature the special 1776–2026 dual date along with a unique Liberty Bell privy mark containing the numeral “250.”The Morgan Dollar carries George T. Morgan’s legendary Liberty design, first introduced in 1878, while the Peace Dollar features Anthony de Francisci’s iconic portrait of Liberty and eagle design that debuted in 1921. Together, they unite two distinct eras of American numismatic history in a set designed specifically for America’s 250th Anniversary.
What makes these coins particularly distinctive is their Enhanced Uncirculated finish. Unlike an ordinary uncirculated coin, an Enhanced Uncirculated coin uses contrasting surface treatments, with selected elements frosted while others retain an uncirculated finish. The result brings added definition and visual contrast to these classic designs.
Each coin was struck at the United States Mint at West Point from 99.9% fine silver and contains approximately 0.859 troy ounce of silver, for approximately 1.718 troy ounces across the pair. Although produced at West Point, the coins themselves carry no physical W mint mark. The U.S. Mint established a maximum mintage of only 250,000 Morgan Dollars and 250,000 Peace Dollars in this Enhanced Uncirculated format.
