The Morgan silver dollar was first struck in 1878 and continued through 1921, with a sixteen year break from 1905-1920. The Morgan dollar was designed by George T. Morgan who would later become the 7th Chief Engraver at the Mint.
The Obverse of the coin features Lady Liberty with a cap adorned with wheat and cotton, while the reverse portrays a bald eagle with an olive branch and arrows clutched in the talons.
