Possibly one of the most popular precious metal coins the United States Mint produces! On July 9, 1985 Congress authorized the Liberty Coin Act (Public Law 99-61), and so became the American Silver Eagle - first minted and sold in 1986. Each coin weighs 1 troy ounce and is struck from .999 Pure. The American Silver Eagle is annually produced and sold in two versions: proof and uncirculated.
The Silver Eagle obverse features a modern interpretation of Adolph A. Weinman’s design of the Walking Liberty, and includes the inscriptions of “Liberty” and “In God We Trust” and the year. The reverse of the Silver Eagle features a Heraldic Eagle with shield. The Eagle has an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left, and beak holding a scroll containing the words “E Pluribus Unim”. The inscriptions surrounding the Eagle reads “United States of America – 1oz Fine Silver – and One Dollar.” The reverse design was done by U.S. Mint Sculptor-Engraver John Mercanti. Both designers of the obverse and reverse of the Silver Eagle discretely have their initials in their designs. In 2021 the US Mint released the second generation design of the American Silver Eagle and was known as the Type II.
We have an incredible opportunity today for you to own a complete Silver Eagle collection, from 1986-2023 including the entire date run of Type I coins and the first three coins of Type II. Not to mention that in 2021 the U.S. Mint was still making Type I coins and switched to Type II half way through the year. We will include BOTH Type I & Type II from 2021 in this collection. You’re entire Silver Eagle 39-coin set will be graded MS69 (near perfect) by NGC in our Flag Core holders. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!
