| Description | Located in Beijing, China; the Temple of Heaven is considered to be the supreme achievement of traditional Chinese architecture. It’s a complex composed of 92 buildings, the most impressive and famous of which is the “Hall of Prayers for Good Harvests,” built on three levels of marble stone, but made entirely of wood without any nails. Constructed in 1402, the astonishing hall served the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for centuries. While the original complex was destroyed in a fire caused by lightning in 1889, it was rebuilt just a few years later identical to the original. Since the number “8” is considered to be a lucky number in Chinese culture, this coin will be extra lucky for whoever owns one because just 1,888 were authorized for worldwide release. Plus, each will come beautifully housed in its original mint packaging that consists of a custom-designed Temple of Heaven Box accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. |
